We are delighted to announce that our Guest Speaker will be Reva Dexter, Vice Chair, Vancity. Reva has formerly sat on JFSA's Board of Directors. Her bio.

* Note: parking can be a bit tough in the West End. If you can't find on-street parking - beware of those "For Residents Only" parking signs - then park in the garage of the West End Community Centre - just on Haro, off Denman. It costs $3.

Information for Guest Speakers

The Nosh n' Network Family of Programs is pleased to announce 2 Different Streams of programming:

  1. Networking Events
  2. Skills Workshops

The format of each "stream" is slightly different, so please prepare accordingly. 

For Networking Events:

  • Event Time / Duration:1.5 hours; typically 7.30 am - 9 am.
  • Guest Speaker: 15-20 minute talk
  • Q&A: 10-15 minute session to follow
  • Requirements: Come as Yourself - we're informal and relaxed - No PowerPoints required!

For Skills Workshops

  • Event Time / Duration:  2 hours; dates TBD
  • Guest Speaker: 20-30 minute talk
  • Q&A: 30-45 minute session to follow (this may also occur in the 'body' of the talk, at the discretion of the Guest Speaker. Sessions may be longer depending on the interest of the Audience & Guest Speaker.)
  • Requirements: Come as Yourself - we're informal and relaxed - Bring Materials as appropriate!

What if I have an idea for a workshop?

  • Talk to us and share your ideas. We'll do our best to find a Guest Speaker. (If we can find 3-5 other people who share your interest, we'll run a workshop.)
  • If you know of a possible Guest Speaker, please suggest him/her to Randy Fisher and he'll get in touch with him/her to get things going!

Networking Events - FAQs

Please NOTE Recent Changes:

  • Start Time: Nosh n' Network runs from 8-9:30 am. (You may mix n' mingle after the formal event is over.)
  • Price Drop: Advance Registration: $8; At the door: $10 (GST included)
  • 5-second Introductions (5 secs each): After the Speaker/Q&A session, we will go around the tables so that people can introduce themselves - consisting of your name, profession and organization.
