PIBC has done work to complete HFC (hybrid fiber coaxial) 2-way 750/860 MHz designs for the Greater Vancouver area (800,000 subscribers). The upgrade of the cable plant enabled Vancouver to increase the number of cable channels and introduce new digital services, such as Internet on cable (cable modems) and digital cable.
Also, PIBC designed 750 MHz network for TeleCommunications Inc. (TCI) in Washington State, USA. The total design area serves 350,000 subscribers.
In addition, for the past three years we have been working with AT&T Broadband and Internet services in Kent, WA. We have completed 860 MHz HFC design with telephony for the Greater Seattle area (Redmond, Kirkland, Carnation, Skyway) and Bellingham using Lode data design program and AutoCAD 14.
Also, PIBC is involved in Satellite Cable design for Bell Express Vu throughout Canada and is considering the possibility of antenna site design for cellular phone companies.
